The Elder Scrolls: Arena completed
CD version would be the best!
(sorry, not ANY Bethesda game, but ones from the first or second "batch" of Bethesda games released here, like Morrowind, Doom, Fallout, etc.)
Buy any Bethesda game, and Arena and Daggerfall will be added to your account for free. These games do not have their own game pages in the store, however.
I have both arena and daggerfall avaliable to download on GOG galaxy and I also have them downloaded on the besthesda.net launcher so maybe if you have them downloaded on their they will appear in GOG? Just a thought
You can have them if you buy www.gog.com/game/an_elder_scrolls_legend_battlespire or www.gog.com/game/the_elder_scrolls_adventures_redguard
Any reason this game and Daggerfall are no longer available?
there is over 9mb of .voc audio files with that female woman who guides you saying a bunch of things, like the descriptions of dungeons when you arrive at them. all in a folder called SPEECH. this is from the CD version.
this needs to be back on gog cuz it was the cd version which is the best version. it has fixes apparently, but i know it has voice overs in the cutscenes and better music. ive verified myself. i have a cd version install and loaded up the "free" bethesda one too. they are definitely different. and free version has bad quality sounds imo.
There is no store page for this and Daggerfall.
Legal right? If I go to jail I'm suin' yall
@Peetfighter...in case you haven't gotten an answer, I believe it's gone from GOG because Bethesda released the full game for free here: www.elderscrolls.com/arena
Where is the store page for this game?
Buy any Bethesda game, and "The Elder Scrolls: Arena and The Elder Scrolls Chapter II: Daggerfall will be added to your GOG.com account for free..." :)
The first two games are free directly from Bethesda on the official TES site.
Adding Elders Scrolls Arena and Daggerfall in pre-configured, stable version without bugs would be definitely something that would make many people join Gog!
The free version is the floppy disk version. We need the much better CD version.
Arena crashes, would like a GOG version that is made more stable. preferrably the CD-ROM version(minus the CD)
thedragonbard and everyone else that this concerns: there already exists preconfigured installations of both Arena and Daggerfall in the internet.

Daggerfall: theelderscrolls.wiwiland.net/?title=Daggerfall_:_DaggerfallSetup_EN
I'd imagine this would be very unlikely with the Elder Scrolls Anthology set coming out. That will have emulators for Arena and Daggerfall, to get them running.
I know this is available for free on their website, but I've never been tech savy or patient enough to figure out how to get it to work on my computer, even with step-by-step instructions. So yay for free, but I would definitely pay for the convenience of an installed and quick to open.
It may be free but it's a pain to run through emulators is to hard, can't GOG work their magic and make it work normally? I hate using emulators, to complicated lol
because it`s buggie as hell
I now it is freeware now, but please tweak it into working on windows vista/7/8 so we don't need to fiddle around with the dos box.. Maybe even add it as a free game in the gog catlogue (which will get a LOT of new subscibers into gog) :)
Yes, Arena and Daggerfall are both freeware from Bethesda now - but you have to do all the DosBox setup yourself and there's no cool GOG extras to go with it. I would pay for a GOG installer and their always entertaining "Extras" for both Arena and Daggerfall - and I feel confident others would too.
The DRM from Best was hard coded into the game-play itself. If they had the original files they could edit it, but rumor has it Daggerfall and Arena dev files were lost in a move years ago. Still, it's free from Bethsoft along with Daggerfall. No need to add it here.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE ADD IT
Still DRM protected from Beth, prolly will always be.
agree with everyone else. we all know they are freely available from the developers but would like to see gog add them to the list. would definitely be great free games to give people when they sign up!
Even though this is free I would definitely pay for a GoG version.
The game is freeware. Wish is duplicate of www.gog.com/wishlist/games/the_elder_scrolls_arena
The game is already free. Wish is duplicate of www.gog.com/wishlist/games/the_elder_scrolls_arena
Deluxe CD version please!
Again...as I previously stated on Daggerfall...free. Free, with or without DOS. Free. Here it is, free of charge, completely legal to own because it is public domain and free. theelderscrolls.wiwiland.net/?title=Arena_:_ArenaSetup_EN
Please bring TES series to GoG! At least the first ones!
This game on GoG and Daggerfall would make me get rid of my Steam account and all of my games. I tried my discs for the games, however I recently moved while accidentally leaving the discs. Plus, GoG deserves this game, and the hassle of DOSbox would be gone as well.
I'd like a version that will run WITHOUT DOSBox.
Arena wasn't a fantastic game if you ask me (I might be a bit before my time, to be fair) - but a freely downloadable bundle of the CD version along with Daggerfall would be awesome. It would certainly attract a lot of people to sign up for this site - as Skyrim is really popular.
The CD version would be nice.
Same with Roller Coaster Tycoon. I think the regular game came in cereal boxes, and the add-ons were bought separately.
Yes, only floppy edition is free, the Deluxe one (CD-ROM and Codex Scientia) would be a very nice addition to the collection!
Maybe add the CD version of Arena(Voiceovers, videos instead of some slideshows etc)
Although it's Freeware, GOG.com already has a few Freeware games already on people's accounts when they join anyway, so adding the first 2 Elder Scrolls games(Daggerfall and Arena, both of which are Freeware) would be a nice bonus. :)
I know a free but I would be willing to pay 5 dollars for a gog version. I personally hate working with emulators.
Like I said about Daggerfall, I'd totally pay for the convenience to not have to mess around with sodding DOS Emulators to play this. To be honest I'm shocked Bethesda didn't make them compatible on newer systems. But if GOG is willing to cut out the middle man there then I'll actually pay for a functional version :D
Yeah, this game's already free on elderscrolls.com You just need DOSbox to run it. Same with Elder Scrolls 2
Its already a free game lol
