Damn how I missed it, guess I waited to long to buy original Unreal Tournament and 2004.. > >
Totally unacceptable by Epic.

They shut down the master server and then when the community makes its own community master servers, they remove the games from sale.

Really smart! [/sarcasm]
Apropos, where the hell is UT3 now? They announce it as freebie, pull all the games from the stores, and then... nothing?

They are very busy, sticking Epic Online Services on it.

And not fixing any of the real issues the game has, like the widescreen FoV or vehicle turn rates at high frame rates. Guaranteed they won't touch a thing in the actual game itself.

Oh my

Dear Tencent, Sweeney, Epic,

YOU BLOODY IDIOTS.

If you didn't want to support the games anymore in any capacity, just make them (or at least their engines) open source. If you lost the game-specific source code (the engine source is unlikely to be lost as the engine was licensed to third parties), no matter: just release the binaries with an open source license. The community would no doubt decompile them to reconstruct the source.

Very sad, can I post a video if Unreal 2004 Mods in action?
At this point, Epic might as well just sell ALL of the Unreal games and their IP's over to Nightdive or something. At least Nightdive might bring the games back from the dead, remaster them, and do it in grand fashion.

Of course, Epic can keep their Unreal Engine.

It probably won't make a difference, but if anyone wants to try (it'd only take a minute if you're already on Twitter), I tweeted Tim Sweeney like a week ago about bringing the Unreal games back to GOG, and you could add your voice.
