Or: Where is the ultimate (DOS) version of the game?

It includes all expansions and adds several gameplay, sound and graphical enhancements while keeping the dynamic MIDI score compared to the windows release (1998).

It would be great to see this being added to the current release!

What I don't understand is this (from the game page):
Includes STAR WARS™: TIE Fighter and STAR WARS™: TIE Fighter - Defender of the Empire

What about Enemies of the Empire? Tie Fighter had two "expansions", Defend and Enemies, which by the way are all related story-wise. It would seem very strange that only one of the two is included in the Gog version (Tie Fighter Collector's Edition had both of them)
Yeah, it would definetly be great if we could have at least the awesome midi score to the win version. And also, the pixel art cutscenes were, and still are, awesome.

Because Enemies of the Empire was ONLY released as part of the Collector's CD-ROM in 1995. There is no individual release of it for them to put out.
Yeah I'm wondering this too. GOG has the X-Wing Collector's Edition CD but not for TIE Fighter.
Guys, GOG version of the game has all of the 13 battles, which means both expansions are there. I have no idea why the gamecard isn't listing the Enemies of the Empire, I'll check with the relevant people.

--edit: that pertains to the Windows version of the game. The DOS is the 1994 original, not the Collector's CDROM.

Maybe GOG overlooked it? In any case, you can voice on my FB post if you want -

Nice, but http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wars:_TIE_Fighter#Release says, "In 1995, TIE Fighter also received a Collector's CD-ROM. The CD-ROM version offered optional enhanced SVGA graphics, increasing the game's resolution from 320x200 to 640x480.[2] The cinematic cutscenes were also enhanced, and the game received numerous voiceovers. The CD-ROM includes the previously released Defender of the Empire expansion and an additional Enemies of the Empire expansion."

Couldn't you add the Collector's CD for the increased resolution? Or does it have issues in DOSBox?

Hopefully it gets sorted out eventually and you make fans happy. :)

Seriously, why isn't the DOS version the Collector's CD-ROM from 95? It's the definitive version!
Same here: I hope GOG can update TIE Fighter to the Collector's Edition CD version.
PLEASE add the Collector's CD-ROM version! This is the definitive version and the one I most remember from my childhood. It has SVGA graphics, voiceovers, Defender of the Empire and keeps the amazing iMUSE system.

I can confirm that TIE 95 runs fine on my Win 7 (64 bit) system. I followed a guide I found via Google, needs DOSBox as you'd expect but runs fine in SVGA.

For my setup, I googled "tie fighter collectors windows 7 dosbox". Scroll down 'til you see the "How to get TIE Fighter: Collector's CD running in DOSbox" (I can't post links).

Easy peasy.

I'd just like to echo that I would love to have the Collectors CD-Rom of this and X-Wing.

It's missing the DOS CD-ROM version? Bummer! It's the only release you really want.

This guide?: http://www.savingcontent.com/2014/08/09/guide-play-x-wing-tie-fighter-series-on-windows-7-windows-8-windows-8-1-with-an-xbox-xb1-playstation-ps4-controller-flight-stick/
At least I would like to know why the floppy version has been chosen over the CD-ROM version.
